A Little about Myself

                Hello My name Mekielia Shaunte Ruffin but I prefer to be called Kielia.  I recently discharged out of the military in December of 2007.  While in I worked as a Human Resource Specialist.  I enjoyed serving my country but I felt that it was time to take care of me.  My academic interests and goals are to achieve a bachelors degree in Business Administration.  My career interests is to be a Human Resources Manager.  The reason I am taking this class is basically because I need this class for my major plus its seems very interesting.  The reason I am taking this class online is because I want to work full time and go to school to achieve my goals.  My personal life interests are basically spending time with my family.  Family is what is most important to me.

                Honestly my reading and writing background for the most part is ok.  I am really not too fond of writing and reading is fun to me if its in my best interest.  My earliest memories of reading is when I was a teenager because I loved reading at that time.  Reading and writing at work  consisted of taking care of customers pay issues and processing personal actions.  Most of the reading I do is in a magazine.  I have to say that reading is challenging because I have to discipline myself to do it and writing is challenging because I have to figure out the right things to say.  I am a speaker honestly.  That’s how I get my point across.  Reading and writing have been beneficial to me because it has helped me achieve many goals in my life.  I usually read first and then write it down in a notebook, proofread and then type final draft on my computer.

                My experience with computers I would say is at an intermediate status.  I have been working with computers for the past 9 years.  My earliest memories were when I first joined the Army.  I had to work with Microsoft office such as word, excel, access, power point etc.  I used computers for communication through my email with other people and for personal activities I just like to go on yahoo, check my bank accounts and just surf the net.  I use computers to write essays for class and of course for this online class.  That is all of have to say about myself.  I hope to learn a lot more about the fundamentals of reading and writing during the course of this class.  Thank you and I look forward to working with all of you.
